NYC Police and the Port Authority Police of NY & NJ issue window tint tickets to FL, GA, SC and all other out of state vehicles were it is legal to have. I'm assuming they can't give me a ticket to even though front is illegal there. My second question, even if you are within the legal limit have you guys found that cops give you a harder time with window tints? So many people have them in NYC I'm assuming it's fine but don't want to start getting hassled for no reason. Does anybody know for sure if you will fail an inspection if you go darker in the back? I'm leaning towards 30% all around to be safe. For some reason it seems to be illegal to go darker on back side windows and back windshield unless you have an SUV, van or truck. Pursuant to New Hampshire law, RSA 266:58-a, tinting to the windows to the left and right of the driver where they are allowed shall not be less than 70 percent light transmittance, and the light transmittance of after market tinted rear windows where they are allowed shall not be less than 35 percent.
